As reported by The Washington Post with supporting provisional data from the National Center for Health Statistics, drug overdose deaths have increased to a record number of over 93,000 in 2020 proving what most behavioral health professionals have feared; the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic took an enormous toll on our country's mental health. Almost 70,000 of those deaths involved opioids which means that the opioid epidemic is still one of the nation's biggest threats all these years later.
